The display can be placed on the counter within the reach of the 45 inch long probe wire. Set your oven temperature, the final meat temperature, and a timer setting if desired. The temperature of the meat and the oven will be displayed simultaneously, in your choice of °F or °C. The timer display is available with the press of a button. The Maverick ET-85 will beep if the oven temperature exceeds your setting, when the meat has reached the desired temperature, or when the timer expires.
